The Coffee Club Café Bar Restaurant (better known as CBR)

A fully licensed restaurant, The Coffee Club CBR offers customers the convenience of extended trading hours, dedicated chefs and a la carte dining. An extensive menu of mouth-watering breakfast, lunch and dinner suggestions is available throughout the day.

All combined with attentive yet unobtrusive table service and, of course, excellent coffee.

The Coffee Club and The Coffee Club Kiosk

More than a café, The Coffee Club offers a range of light meals, gourmet sandwiches, beverages, cakes and counter service. At the centre is our dedication to serving excellent coffee. There are two different layouts: one for an individual shop location, the other for the kind of kiosk location frequently found in major shopping centres.

“When we first started this venture we opted for the kiosk because we had our two young children, so that worked well for us and it has allowed us flexibility. We saw a franchise system as being able to give us support in the areas where we were weak and over time we would pick up from there.

The support you get by way of uniforms, designs, marketing, menus, suppliers, all those things, enables you to reduce the focus that you’ve got onto what is really important – which is that day to day customer interaction.

“The system works, and that’s why we’re expanding”

“I wanted the backing of a franchising system and that’s why I didn’t do it by myself. I wanted the structure. I didn’t want to reinvent the wheel when somebody had already done it.

The Coffee Club are constantly looking at ways to improve the structure and build on the structure. One example would be with financial management. They have existing franchisees come into the store and meet new franchisees and teach them about ways that they can minimise their cost of employment, cost of goods and different ways they can help maximise their profit within the business.

In relation to the training that the corporate office provides for new franchisees, how they bring existing franchisees in to train new franchisees so that they get “hands on” experience.

It’s not just the corporate office telling them how to run their business, it’s actually people that are doing it now.

The system works and that’s why we are expanding and that is why we probably will be the number one franchising system. It’s because the system works and we want to ‘be a part of it’.”

Superb training at The Coffee Club franchise is the key to success

A business is only as good as its people. That’s why we welcome franchisees to The Coffee Club family with the primary key to success – superb training.

At The Coffee Club we train and assess franchisees’ competence across three areas: skills, knowledge and attitude.

Our franchise training program includes:

  • Corporate education which provides knowledge of our systems as well as legislative and regulatory compliance requirements – usually eight days in duration;
  • In-store training which provides franchisees with operational skills and knowledge across all aspects of running a store.
  • The Coffee Club follows proven recruitment practices in hiring all staff, whether it be kitchen hands or store managers.

    Experience, commitment, strong work ethic and most of all, personality are the key qualities we desire for staff in all stores, and customers expect nothing less.

    This high standard is reinforced by The Coffee Club training facility situated at our corporate office. Here, we have developed a dynamic mix of both theory and practical work to support franchisees and their staff. The facility provides staff with detailed education and enrichment courses to continue to provide customers with an outstanding experience.

    Financing a great investment

    The Coffee Club franchise system requires an initial capital investment of $400,000 – $550,000.

    There is an initial franchise and training fee that allows The Coffee Club to establish the franchise business. It compensates for:

    • Location selection
    • Lease negotiation
    • Design
    • Fit out
    • Training
    • Opening assistance
    • The Coffee Club intellectual property

    Following establishment there is an ongoing franchise fee and marketing fee (at present 6% and 3% respectively).
