Why did you go down the franchise route? And why did you choose your franchise?
I worked at the Eagle Boys Cowra store as the manager before deciding to buy the franchise. I choose this franchise as I was familiar with the running and operations of the store. Also, Cowra is my hometown and I absolutely love this community. I value the staff and customers in my store; they are like family to me.
What did you do before taking up a franchise?
I managed the Eagle Boys store so I knew I wanted to stay within the Eagle Boys company. This was the obvious move for me to make.
What is a typical day for you as a franchisee?
I wake up to my gorgeous three-year-old boy and we always watch cartoons together for at least an hour during breakfast. Next it’s off to work to set up the store for the day. I begin by responding to my emails and address anything important for the day before I start my shift.
Next I make sure my store is clean before I focus on preparing and selling delicious pizzas to our customers. Monday, Wednesday and Friday I manage my paperwork and I take Sunday’s off for family time.
In your opinion, what makes a successful franchisee?
Successful franchisees never give up on the impossible. They must be willing to work hard and put in the hours to get the desired results.
What advice would you give to someone thinking of buying their first franchise?
I strongly suggest researching the business properly and obtaining a solid knowledge of all aspects of the business. Also be willing to put in the effort to build the business and constantly seek improvement.
What are your plans for the future?
I am looking forward to growing my business and continually evolving and improving our offering to suit our customer requirements.
