A recent addition of an Eagle Boys Express system has provided a ‘supreme’ offer for customers stopping by Caltex Yabulu.

Owners Ross and Helen Donovan have owned the service station for three years and installed the Eagle Boys Express system earlier this year to drive sales during a gap period in their service. “We have a 40-seat restaurant here, as the service station is also a truck stop. We were selling and still sell a range of hot foods including steaks, all day breakfasts, burgers, cooked chickens, fresh rolls and so on,” Mr Donovan said.

“We trade really well from 5am until 3pm, but needed something to boost sales from 3pm onwards. I thought pizza and other items offered through the Eagle Boys Express system would fill this gap really well.”

Mr Donovan decided Eagle Boys Express would work well at his service station when he noticed the system boosting businesses throughout Queensland.

“I saw an Eagle Boys Express when I was travelling through Maryborough and then saw one at Brisbane Airport and it looked good,” he said.

“We sit 22km from Townsville with not much in between. The Eagle Boys Express products are good for the local people and for the travelling public with the most popular items being hot dogs and all of the pizzas. They don’t just sell well after 3pm, they sell all day.”

The Eagle Boys Express system, which has been enhancing businesses across Australia for almost nine years, has proven a good business move for Caltex Yabulu.

“By having Eagle Boys Express installed, I haven’t lost any of my core business so everything we take is a bonus,” Mr Donovan said.

The Donovans have been in the fuel industry for 27 years and said the process of installing Eagle Boys Express was straightforward.

“Eagle Boys is very good at training. Robin Heslehurst (Express Brand Manager) spent a few days with my team to ensure they could use the system,” Mr Donovan said.

“Because we’re open 24 hours and our team members are always on rotation it can be tricky to adjust to new practices, however, it didn’t take too long for it to all fall into place.”

Eagle Boys Express Brand Manager Robin Heslehurst said the system was a proven success model with outlets operating in airports, cinemas, petroleum and convenience stores, boosting product offering for customers and revenue for business owners.

“The system can be incorporated into businesses using existing equipment, with staff and business owners receiving optimum training,” Mr Heslehurst said.

“We train staff to prepare and serve the product and the best thing is, you don’t need to employ extra team members to manage an Express system.

“All you need to be is a business owner who is passionate about delivering excellent customer service and exceptional product like the Donovans and their team at Caltex Yabulu.”
