Crust Gourmet Pizza Bar Parap has fulfilled one radio host’s dream – to make the Northern Territory’s largest pizza.
The 10 metre long pizza will be hand crafted by Crust’s gourmet pizza making team and is set to include a range of toppings, sectioned off into several original recipes which will be submitted by Hot 100 FM Darwin’s listeners.
Crust Gourmet Pizza Bar Parap Franchisee Sally Illingworth said she was looking forward to the challenge of attempting to make the Northern Territory’s largest pizza.
“When we heard Shad from Hot 100 FM talking about his dream to make the Territory’s largest pizza, we knew we had to get involved!” said Sally.
“Making a 10 metre long pizza will be a challenge, but we’re ready to take it on.”
Sally has commissioned a 10 metre long serving board for the pizza, which will be made, cooked and served tomorrow, Friday 16 January at 1pm.
“Once we got our heads around the logistics of making a really long pizza, it all fell into place,” said Sally.
“Our dough is hand stretched, so we will be making an especially large base, hand topping it with a range of delicious gourmet ingredients, then feeding the pizza through our conveyer style oven.
“The pizza will come out the other end cooked to perfection, and will be laid out on our custom made serving board.”
Sally and the team at Crust Parap have pulled together the event in record time, hearing Shad’s request just last week and leaping into action.
The massive pizza is set to feature many of the gourmet ingredients Crust is famous for, including Wagyu Beef, Pulled Pork, Kimchi, Prosciutto and Gorgonzola, just to name a few.
The record-sized pizza will be available for Darwin locals to taste, compliments of Crust Parap and Hot 100 FM, on Friday 16 January at 1pm at Crust Parap, 36 Parap Road.
