Eagle Boys Pizza is on a mission to restore Australians’ love of seafood on pizza with its new menu set to reel in jaded pizza lovers tired of fake-looking, shrivelled “prawns”.
The country’s second largest pizza maker has unwrapped 31 new menu items, including new seafood pizzas Garlic Prawn, Steak & Prawn, and Prawn & Avocado.
They join new vegetarian and meat pizza toppings, a gluten-friendly pizza base, lasagne, pasta dishes, potato skin sides, and desserts.
Eagle Boys CEO Todd Clayton said the new menu was the result of 12 months research into the Australian taste bud and testing of new dishes.
Mr Clayton said while Australians had a close affinity with the sea and loved seafood, many pizza makers failed to deliver a good seafood pizza.
“Our new menu is built upon fresh, quality ingredients which don’t compromise on taste. That includes using real prawns which look like prawns and taste like prawns,” he said.
“We started the wave of change a few years ago by working with top seafood suppliers to ensure we were getting fresh prawns. The seachange has continued as we’ve been working hard in the kitchen developing new pizza toppings.
“Our Steak & Prawn pizza is a premium take on the old reef ‘n’ beef-style pizzas, while Garlic Prawn and Prawn & Avocado has united a range of ingredients which complement the taste of fresh prawns.
“Australian pizza lovers are looking for a real pizza with real flavours and real toppings. At the same time, they’re not prepared to shell out $20 for a single pizza from a gourmet pizza shop. With this new menu, pizza lovers can have the premium pizza without the gourmet pricetag.”
Eagle Boys Pizza is Australia’s second largest pizza maker and is 100% Australian-owned. It operates 300 franchised stores throughout Queensland, New South Wales, Victoria, South Australia, Western Australia, the ACT, and the Northern Territory, employing more than 4,000 staff and making more than 17 million pizzas a year.
