Eagle Boys Pizza has its sights set on becoming Western Australia’s largest pizza maker with this week’s opening of its 25th store in Perth and 40th store in the state.
The opening of Eagle Boys Kingsway on 29 November is part of Eagle Boys’ $20 million expansion strategy which will see 46 new stores open across Australia this financial year.
Eagle Boys CEO Todd Clayton said the first Western Australian Eagle Boys store opened in 1996 and since then Western Australians had firmly embraced Eagle Boys as their favourite pizza maker.
“Opening our 40th store in Western Australia is a hefty milestone in the Eagle Boys expansion strategy, and also marks our 25th store in Perth. Domino’s Pizza has 46 stores in Western Australia and we believe our focus on real ingredients and real taste, not to mention our bigger pizzas, will help make us number one,” he said.
“Interestingly, Western Australian pizza lovers are more likely to order a pizza online compared to other Australians with almost a quarter of Eagle Boys store sales now coming from online orders, topping the national Eagle Boys online ordering average of 15 per cent.”
Mr Clayton said Eagle Boys expected to open almost one new store a week across its network in 2010-2011 to keep pace with demand.
“We’ve identified key geographic regions where we would like to open new franchises based on the growing demand for our pizzas,” Mr Clayton said.
“Western Australia is one of these areas and a state still witnessing population growth and a strong economy – solid expansion over the past 15 years proves it’s a great state to do business,” he said.
“Eagle Boys is well established in Western Australia as the vast majority of our stores have been opened for more than five years. Our focus remains on quality and value so that we can build this solid foundation.”
Eagle Boys Pizza is one of Australia’s largest pizza makers and is 100% Australian-owned. It operates more than 330 franchised stores throughout Queensland, New South Wales, Victoria, South Australia, Western Australia, the ACT and the Northern Territory, employing more than 8,000 staff and making more than 17 million pizzas a year.
