Australian Franchise News – 31-05-10
The 20 new stores are located in Sydney and Adelaide, and a among the record 50 new stores Australia’s second largest pizza maker plans to open across the country during this calendar year.
Eagle Boys CEO Todd Clayton said the company’s rapid store growth was the result of the successful launch of its 31 new menu items, double-digit sales growth and a spike in inquiries from potential franchisees.
Mr Clayton said half the new stores due to open this year were in Sydney, highlighting the company’s growing presence in this major market.
“Eagle Boys has gone from being predominately based in Queensland, to steadily building its stronghold across the states. We see enormous potential in New South Wales and South Australia and this latest surge of new store openings is just the beginning,” he said.
“With each store employing around 20 staff, these stores will help create hundreds of new jobs in local communities. The stores will also purchase as much as possible from local suppliers, providing a valuable injection into local economies.”
The 20 new stores will also incorporate the new Eagle Boys store design – the biggest store design makeover in the company’s 23 year history.
The new store design sees space maximised in the waiting area, additional customer seating, repositioned menu boards and inbuilt fridges. Behind the scenes, streamlined kitchen areas improve pizza making efficiency.
