Responding to the growing sophistication of Australians’ pizza palate, Eagle Boys Pizza has unveiled its biggest menu launch in its 23 year history.

The country’s second largest pizza maker has unwrapped 31 new menu items, including a 92.7% fat free Lighter Choices range with five gourmet pizzas, five premium pizzas, five kids meals, five new side dishes, three new desserts, a gluten-friendly pizza base, and new drinks range.

Eagle Boys CEO Todd Clayton said the new menu was the result of 12 months research into the Australian taste bud and testing of new dishes.

He said the menu reflected research showing that about a third of people were more interested in trying new food flavours than they were a year ago.

“Having been exposed to a great range of cuisines, the Australian pizza palate can be described as true blue multi-cultural.   As a nation, we have taken different tastes, ingredients and dishes from across the world, interpreted them and now enjoy them in our daily lives,” he said.

“Another key food trends which have shaped our new menu is the need for our food to be more than just fuel, but an opportunity to share time with friends and family.   As Australians, we’re also looking for everyday indulgences with premium tastes and textures.

“Our new menu is built upon fresher, quality ingredients which don’t compromise on taste.

“From this starting point, we’ve been able to create innovative pizzas, devilish desserts and sumptuous sides like potato skins and lasagne.   We have 31 new menu items – each one delicious.”

Mr Clayton said the new menu would cement the company’s position as the nation’s second largest pizza maker.

“With a whole new range of pizzas encompassing the traditional favourites through to gourmet innovations, the new menu has been developed based on fresh ingredients and appealing flavours. This will ensure we will not only retain our loyal customers, but also attract new ones from the other pizza players,” he said.

“Australian pizza lovers are looking for a real pizza with real flavours and real toppings.   At the same time, they’re not prepared to shell out $20 for a single pizza from a gourmet pizza shop.   With this new menu, pizza lovers can have the premium pizza without the gourmet pricetag.”

Eagle Boys Pizza is Australia’s second largest pizza maker and is 100% Australian-owned. It operates 300 franchised stores throughout Queensland, New South Wales, Victoria, South Australia, Western Australia, the ACT, and the Northern Territory, employing more than 4,000 staff and making more than 17 million pizzas a year.
