Australia’s second largest pizza maker, Eagle Boys Pizza, has vowed to stop gourmet pizza price gouging, launching a new gourmet range with 18 pizzas featuring ingredients like Moreton Bay Bugs, scotch fillet, salmon steaks and brie.

Recognising Australians’ growing appetite for quality food, but distaste for overpriced pizzas, the new range includes toppings like Tandoori Chicken, Spanish Tapas, Seafood Platter with Moreton Bay Bug, and Salmon and Avocado, prices starting from just $10.95.

Eagle Boys CEO Todd Clayton said the company was constantly looking for ways to tantalise pizza lovers’ tastebuds while saving their hip pockets.

“The new gourmet pizzas mark the next evolution of Eagle Boys – by offering gourmet pizzas, along with value favourites and traditional pizzas, starters, sides and desserts, Eagle Boys ensures it provides a great choice for everyone, regardless of budget or occasion,” Mr Clayton said.

Mr Clayton said Eagle Boys’ gourmet pizzas were up to half the price of gourmet pizzas cooked up by other pizza chains and independent operators.

“Eagle Boys believes Aussie gourmet pizza lovers have been ripped off for far too long.    Having real, quality and fresh ingredients on your pizza shouldn’t mean you’re slugged with a hefty price tag,” he said.

“Australians’ appetites have changed and there’s a growing number looking for better tasting, better quality pizza, but don’t want to pay over $20 for a single pizza.”

Mr Clayton said Eagle Boys was campaigning for the pizza market’s middle ground with a real taste, real size and real value menu offering.

“As a result, Eagle Boys is now the only Australian Owned and Operated Australian franchise business with a completely rounded menu. We’re the irreverent crusader leading the market out of low value pizza territory,” he said.

“Eagle Boys is constantly updating its menu to give Australians the fresh ingredients, exotic flavours, and real value they expect, which is why our menu has doubled in size to rival competitors over the past two years.”

Eagle Boys Pizza is Australia’s second largest pizza maker and is 100% Australian-owned. It operates more than 335 franchised stores throughout Queensland, New South Wales, Victoria, South Australia, Western Australia, the ACT, and the Northern Territory, employing more than 8,000 staff and making more than 17 million pizzas a year.
