No longer only reserved for restaurants, Eagle Boys has become the first Australian pizza maker to launch Potato Skins.
With a crisp shell, smooth potato inside and savoury cheese and bacon toppings, the Loaded Potato Skins are one of 31 new items on the Eagle Boys’ menu.
Eagle Boys CEO Todd Clayton said given potato skins were such an Australian savoury favourite, he was surprised no other pizza maker had offered them before.
“During the past 12 months I’ve looked at Australian food trends, what Aussies like and don’t like. Potato skins stood out as one of those sides Aussies loved, but generally could only get if they went out to a restaurant or cafe,” he said.
“In fact, a recent report found that hot potato products are the leading fast food product by consumption in Australia.*
“With delicious bacon, garlic aioli, feta and mozzarella melted on top, the Loaded Potato Skins are the starter Australians used to go out for. Now they can share with their family and friends at home.
“The key to developing great tasting potato skins is starting with fresh ingredients. From there it’s simply about combining a handful of complementary flavours to create a great savoury treat.”
Eagle Boys Pizza is Australia’s second largest pizza maker and is 100% Australian-owned. It operates 305 franchised stores throughout Queensland, New South Wales, Victoria, South Australia, Western Australia, the ACT, and the Northern Territory, employing more than 4,000 staff and making more than 17 million pizzas a year.
