I am from Melbourne and have been a barista for nearly 8 years. I am extremely passionate about coffee and have a background in hospitality management, which I studied in 2008.

What did you do before taking up The Coffee Guy franchise?
I was a barista for nearly 8 years and worked at various cafes in different roles, mainly focused on making coffee. Evidently, I had a passion for the industry and becoming a The Coffee Guy franchise partner was the perfect move for my next career.
How did you raise the finance?
I had savings and through a small loan.
What training and support did you receive initially and ongoing?
I conducted one week of initial training at head office that covered every part of the business, from coffee making to finances. The Coffee Guy also provides ongoing operational support that you can call on to assist in all aspects of your business.
What is a typical day for you as a The Coffee Guy franchise partner?
The day starts quite early, from 6am to 1pm, and it is usually a pretty fast paced. My customers are always waiting for me to turn up, which always brings a smile to my face and makes me feel like I’m doing an awesome job – I love it.
What challenges have you faced?
Developing my business and finding extra places to make my coffee route bigger.
Has becoming a The Coffee Guy franchise partner changed your life, if so how?
Yes definitely – being your own boss is a great feeling!
You have so much flexibility and time to spend doing what you love and with your family.
You will never get bored given there are always new opportunities and challenges coming your way frequently.
What marketing / promotional tools do you use to grow your franchise?
Marketing support is provided by The Coffee Guy’s head office and furthermore, I use social media to promote my business.

Quality of the coffee! The great ongoing support, marketing and brand power.
In your opinion, what makes a successful The Coffee Guy franchise partner?
Someone that has the right attitude and would like to work for themselves. Punctuality, customer service, quality of coffee and someone who actively seeks opportunities rather than sitting idle. I would highly recommend it!
What are your plans for the future?
I would like to eventually expand my business by either buying another van in the future or eventually starting my own café.
