Why did you go down the franchise route? And why did you choose your franchise?

After doing the 9 to 5 grind for 10 years, I started thinking about owning my own business. After looking into franchises in various different sectors, I chose Enviro Chasing Services due to the relatively low start-up costs and above average hourly rates attainable without having a trade qualification.

What did you do before taking up a franchise?

Before I became an Enviro Chasing franchise owner, I worked in production scheduling and logistics for a multinational company.

How did you raise the finance?

As the start-up costs were relatively low, I managed to finance it through my accumulated savings.

What training and support did you receive initially and ongoing?

A good franchisor should provide you with everything you need to get going and build upon any initial training. With Enviro Chasing, I received just that. Initially I received 4 weeks on the job training plus additional external courses. Currently all job scheduling, debt collecting, technical advice, and other services are included in my franchise fee.

What is a typical day for you as a franchisee?

A typical day for me is to travel approximately 100km and complete 3 jobs per day on average.

What challenges have you faced?

Initially it was a challenge to get used to the physical aspect of the job, due to being an office worker previously. It took me about 2 months to make the transition and just became easier afterwards.

What marketing/promotional tools do you use to grow your franchise?

All marketing and promotion is included in my franchise fee. The fact that Enviro Chasing Services do all the marketing and promotion on my behalf, suits me as I do not have the necessary skills to do it myself.

What differentiates your franchise from the competition?

Enviro Chasing Services competes in the “niche” market of wall chasing, using patented equipment which is not available to our competition. We literally have the edge!

In your opinion, what makes a successful franchisee?

In my opinion, you first need an ethical Franchisor with a good business model, and then you must work hard, be loyal to the brand, and trust in the product.

What advice would you give to someone thinking of buying their first franchise?

I would certainly advise that anyone looking into franchising should do their homework and explore different options.

What are your plans for the future?

My plans are simply to continue to grow my current franchise.

Would you do it again?

Yes. Absolutely!
