Sinking her teeth into a RAMS franchise

I had worked in the corporate world all my working life, but felt there was something missing. I knew I wanted to be able to control my future and have something to sink my teeth into. I have always been confident in my own ability to succeed, so when the opportunity arose to be one of RAMS’ very first franchisees, I decided to back myself and jumped at the chance!

I worked in a variety of high level administration jobs; the most recent being in an international record company, which was a pretty dynamic environment.

We borrowed against our family home for our start up costs and working capital in the initial stages.

RAMS have always provided excellent training and support. In the beginning we undertook an extensive induction program and were given access to experienced loan writers to help develop our skills. Head Office was always available to answer any queries, and help solve any problems that arose. We were very fortunate in that aspect.

Staff! It took us a long while, and quite a level of personnel turnover to assemble a great team – something we hadn’t counted on. Now we run like a well-oiled machine, and all of our employees strive to be the best, and make our business a success. We are very proud of them all.

Don’t enter into a franchise unless you are passionate about the product/industry. When you work for yourself, whether you intend to or not, you do eat, sleep and breathe it. If you are working in an industry that doesn’t stimulate you, your success will be limited.

To grow our market share, continue to maintain our reputation, and look after the people who are important to us!
