Desiree DeGruchy took a gamble in May 2013 by becoming Australia’s first Coffee Guy franchisee and now that gamble has paid off with an eight week European adventure.
Since launching the Coffee Guy mobile coffee van, Ms DeGruchy has built up a loyal following and is now having a well-earned break by living out her dream to take an eight week holiday in Europe.
“The business has been booming, and I have been able to put enough away to pay for my dream trip and I am taking the van off the road for a short break,” said Ms DeGruchy.
Ms DeGruchy has also enjoyed the shortened work hours compared to her previous 9-5 job – all the while earning herself a higher income.
“My working day begins at 6.15am and ends at 11.45am, and once I’ve cleaned the van and equipment I’m ready to enjoy life by 1pm every day,” said Ms DeGruchy.
“My franchise has given me a new flexible lifestyle that has allowed me to achieve my life goals.”
The Yatala based franchise will be closed whilst Ms DeGruchy is on holiday, but she is excited to be coming back to her loyal customers in the Yatala area.
“My customers are loyal, the coffee is fantastic and when I return I will re-visit my customers and continue to run my business in the Yatala area,” said Ms DeGruchy.
“I know I have the skills and confidence to easily continue serving 100 cups of coffee per day, and the beauty of running my own mobile franchise is that I can take an extended break when I need to.”
