Bucking Bull has opened the doors of its new concept store in Fairfield Central Shopping Centre in Townsville.
The store opened in November as part of Fairfield Central’s $24 million stage-two development, and is the first Bucking Bull casual dining café concept in the country.
The boutique carvery brand was founded in Western Australia in 1999 by franchise group Aktiv Brands, and has since expanded throughout food courts in Queensland, New South Wales and Victoria.
Dean Vella, Aktiv Brands Executive Director said that the new model is part of a wider strategy to capitalize on changing market trends.
“Food is becoming a destination in itself in the retail environment,” he said.
“Centres are incorporating more dining precincts in their developments, and as a result customers are prepared to spend longer dining in this kind of environment now.”
For Bucking Bull, the transition from fast food to casual dining and café was a natural progression.
“What we’ve done and done well since 1999 is traditional, hearty meals based around Australia’s love of roast meats,” he said.
“At Fairfield, we’ve simply expanded on this concept to provide a full café offering including coffee, sweets, a café style breakfast offering and a more substantial variety of main meals, available in a relaxed environment.”
The model is proving a hit with customers in the new Fairfield Central Shopping Centre according to Aktiv Brands Field Support Manager, Scott Leith.
“Townsville customers love their roasts! I don’t think I stopped carving once on opening day,” he said.
“I think our customers also really appreciate that all of our roasts are 100% Australian grown, and where possible we source locally.”
Bucking Bull is part of the Aktiv Brands Group. Aktiv Brands’ business portfolio also includes Skewerz Kebabz, Primal Pantry and Seven Seas Seafood Café.
