Australians are being told to “Go Wholemeal” as part of a new national campaign highlighting how wholemeal bread can help improve children’s diets and overall health.

The campaign sees Brumby’s Bakeries partner with Sesame Street’s Healthy Habits for Life program – an initiative to help young children and their caregivers establish an early foundation of healthy habits that can last a lifetime.

On average, most Australians consume 18-25g of fibre daily, well below the National Heart Foundation of Australia’s recommendation of approximately 30g.

Wholemeal breads are also a rich source of many essential vitamins, minerals and phytochemicals.  Research has found that these can help bolster the body’s immune system and ward off diseases and illnesses.
