Australian food brand developer and manager Aktiv Brands last week launched a new Bucking Bull store in Goodna, west of Brisbane.

Located outside the IGA Supermarket, the Goodna store is the first Bucking Bull to be integrated into a supermarket model.

“The Goodna store is really a first for the brand,” said Aktiv Brands Executive Director, Dean Vella.

“You’ll find a Bucking Bull in just about every major shopping centre in or around Brisbane and the Gold Coast, but Goodna is the first store to be integrated into a local supermarket environment,” he said.

The store has extended trading hours from 8am through till 9pm every day offering breakfast, lunch and dinner to the local Goodna community.

“We’ve identified great potential in this type of model,” Mr Vella said.

“Without the costs usually associated with operating within a shopping centre, we’re able to minimise overhead expenses, yet maximise convenience for our customers.”

After a strong first week of trade, Mr Vella said that the Goodna location is a great example of the types of opportunities that Aktiv Brands will be considering for future growth within the company.

Store franchisee Gaurav Bansal also owns the newly opened IGA Supermarket and has made a conscious decision to make the complex as ‘green’ as possible.

“We’re using LED lights in the fridges and the refrigerant is also environmentally friendly,” he said.

The complex was officially opened last week with special appearances by Broncos star Alfie Langer and brand mascot, Buck the bull.

The recent store opening takes the number of stores in the Aktiv Brands portfolio to 45.
