Made famous by the National Geographic series The Deadliest Catch, Alaskan King Crab is the largest of all crab species and is now being served up on a pizza at Crust Gourmet Pizza Bar outlets across the country.
King Crab is the hero ingredient on Crust’s new Upper Crust Singapore Chilli Crab Pizza, combined with shallots and caramelised onions on a hoisin sweet chilli and garlic base, garnished with fresh coriander and chilli.
Crust Gourmet Pizza Bar Managing Director Michael Rose said Crust’s product development team had worked tirelessly to source the new crab from an Australian supplier.
“We are so excited to be bringing King Crab to our menu and to the palates of Australian consumers,” said Mr Rose.
“Sourced by a Sydney family business, the crab is cleaned, cooked in seawater and blast frozen on board within minutes of the catch, preserving its superior quality and flavour.
“King Crab is unmatched for its delicate sweet flavour, succulent white meat and rich texture, and it is the perfect addition to Crust’s premium Upper Crust menu.”
Crust’s new menu is made up of eleven new pizzas and sides ranging from salads and starters to dessert; including the c. 1889 Margherita, Upper Crust Sangria Duck Ragu, Herb Bread with Hummus and Kalamata Olives and Elvis Crumble Dessert Pizza.
