Australian Franchise News – 02-04-12
This year, 134,000 Australian consumers made it official – Lord of the Fries (LOTF) is Australia’s favourite vegetarian/vegan eatery. The niche QSR was voted number one both in Victoria and nationally as part of the Lifestyle Food Channel’s I Love FOOD Awards, the largest consumer-voted restaurant awards in Australia. This is LOTF’s second consecutive I Love FOOD awards win in this category.
LOTF’s menu – which focuses on delicious fries made from locally sourced potatoes, accompanied by internationally inspired dipping sauces as well as mouth-watering burgers – is 100% vegetarian and offers a wide range of vegan, gluten free, Halal and kosher products. The team is passionate about creating tasty vegetarian food that gives customers the best and most convenient fry experience they’ll ever have.
The brand has proven itself to be a stable model for franchisees, having created its own niche market due to its strategic location choices and innovative name and branding. The accolade coincides with LOTF opening its sixth store in eclectic Brunswick Street, Fitzroy and a period of solid growth for the franchise. LOTF is set to continue expansion throughout the rest of 2012 into at least three new locations in Melbourne and Sydney.
LOTF Co-Founder Sam Koronczyk said the team is overjoyed with the win and humbled they have been recognised above all other vegetarian and vegan restaurants.
“We’re extremely happy with this win and attribute it to our loyal customer base who have really helped us grow and prosper over the years. It just goes to show that passion for good vegetarian and vegan food, as well as great fries, goes a long way,” said Sam.
“2012 is the year of growth for Lord of the Fries and we’re excited to be steadily branching out across Australia, taking our quality product offering into the areas where there is demand for our trademark quirkiness and locally-sourced produce with vegetarian, vegan, kosher, Halal and gluten free options. “
