MYO, the world’s most unique ‘DIY’ sandwich and salad retail franchise, has this week officially launched two new franchise models, giving prospective franchisees three levels of entry into the business.

The ‘Food Court’ and ‘Kiosk’ models are designed to capitalise on strong growth in the shopping centre takeaway food market while building on the existing brand awareness of MYO.

MYO Managing Director Byron Smith said the new franchise models would deliver a strong growth boost for the franchise.

“We anticipate growth of these two new models to outstrip the traditional MYO Café option thanks to strong demand and lower start up costs,” he said.

“We expect to see at least three Food Court or Kiosk MYO stores open in the next 12 months in Australia and new store openings overseas as well.”

The new shopping centre based franchise options will take advantage of growing consumer awareness of fat content in fast foods as noted in the latest IBISWorld Takeaway Food Retailing Report.*

“There is still a distinct lack of choice for consumers in food court environments currently. MYO gives customers healthy takeaway options like sandwiches, soups, salads and wraps as well as great coffee at prices that are more affordable than most cafés.

“Given this we’re excited to offer the MYO range of meal alternatives in shopping centres and we hope to establish strong market share in the space.”

Mr Smith said the new models would appeal to prospective franchisees seeking a strong revenue stream.

“Our traditional ‘Café’ model has been fantastic for franchisees who want the five day per week lifestyle but the new models will operate on a six or seven day retail cycle, providing increased revenue opportunities for new franchisees.”

The three different MYO franchise models are individually priced to ensure prospective franchisees find a model to suit their budget as well as their lifestyle.
“The traditional ‘Café’ franchise will retain its $300,000 entry price however the new ‘Food Court’ model will start from $275,000 while the ‘Kiosk’ option will start from $250,000.

“We’re pleased our tradition of giving customers a wide variety of choices now extends to our franchise models and we look forward to growing the MYO business with the new franchise options in Australia and abroad.

Established in Perth, Western Australia, in 1994 MYO is the totally original ‘Make Your Own’ sandwich, salad and coffee bar franchise recognised as the most unique self service sandwich brand in the world.

MYO currently operates 24 franchises across Australia, Ireland and the U.K.  The new franchise models will be showcased at the Melbourne Franchise Exhibition August 20-22.
