Top chocolate franchise group San Churro is leading the charge of Melbourne-based companies who are opening up for business in Frankston, setting their sights on a lucrative location in Bayside’s entertainment precinct.
Traditionally known as a gateway to Victoria’s Mornington Peninsula, Frankston is on the cusp of an economic boom, which has the potential to position the city as Melbourne’s premier investment location.
The forecasted growth comes off the back of investment from both the public and private sector, led by the $730M development of the Peninsula Link freeway and the announcement of a $114M upgrade to Frankston’s railways, which has opened up access to the city.
Major upgrades to hospitals and universities, plans to build offices and apartment complexes, and the development of a $50M aquatic centre are expected to bring more than 2,000 new jobs to the region according to Frankston City Council.

According to Frankston City Council, between 2003 and 2012, median house prices increased from less than $250,000 to almost $400,000 and in 2013 building approvals went up 162% on the previous year.
