Why did you go down the franchise route? And why did you choose Jetts Fitness franchise?
I believe in health and fitness and I believe in the product Jetts offer to the fitness industry. I was already in the industry and Jetts provided me with the opportunity to further myself. Having never owned a gym previously, joining a franchise with all the hard work already done was appealing.
What did you do before taking up your Jetts Fitness franchise?
I had my own personal training business.
How did you raise the finance?
With great difficulty at first, however I had a little bit of equity and the start-up costs were low due to the franchise still being in the infinite stage.
What training and support did you receive initially and ongoing?
Hands on support from the Founder of Jetts and continued training as the franchise and specialist support staff were introduced
What is a typical day for you as a Jetts franchisee?
I train in the club every day and spend time talking with members and staff. I would spend at least an hour a day on the computer, emails ,reporting , research, networking .
What challenges have you faced?
Recently competition, however that has had a minimal effect. Challenged by the direction of the franchise at times, however they have listened to the majority of the group and common sense has prevailed. Deciding when and how I wanted to upgrade facilities is the only real tough decision we have faced.
Has becoming a Jetts franchisee changed your life, if so how?
Given me the financial freedom and time to enjoy my family.
What advice would you give to someone thinking of buying their first franchise?
It’s still your business so be prepared to put in the time and effort. Don’t expect everyone to do it for you.
What are your plans for the future?
I’m looking at doing a new site shortly or purchasing an existing site which has failed to reach its potential
