Securing a larger slice of the lucrative lunch market, Eagle Boys has launched a new gourmet sandwich range for hungry workers that can be delivered directly to a workplace, construction site or household.

The new Toasted Turkish sandwiches are available in Chicken & Cheese, BLT, Ham Cheese & Tomato, Steak Bacon & Cheese, and Vegetarian. They are made with fresh gourmet ingredients like cold cut meats, baby spinach leaves, roasted capsicum and Swiss cheese.

The range is available at Eagle Boys’ standard stores (which already open for lunch) from 1 August 2010 from $6.95.

Eagle Boys CEO Todd Clayton said he expected the new lunchtime menu would be very popular with workers.

“Just because we don’t use crisp white table cloths and silver cutlery, doesn’t mean we can’t make a delicious gourmet sandwich! Plus, our gourmet sandwiches are available at only a fraction of the cost of most gourmet deli sandwiches,” he said.

“A lot of people have been telling us that we should expand our lunch menu, so we decided to give it a go.

“Our Toasted Turkish range is the result of months of taste-testing with sandwich connoisseurs. Drawing on our fresh, real ingredients, we’ve created a tasty range which caters to different palettes and gives customers a new choice at lunch.

“Pizza lovers will still be able to order a pizza at lunch, but the addition of Toasted Turkish sandwiches broadens the lunchtime options for customers.

“International research has shown that customers want more variety in sandwiches as they are generally bored with the current offerings.   At the same time, they want affordable and high-quality gourmet sandwiches which can be enjoyed when they are on the move.”
