Having been the first major Australian pizza maker to offer pasta dishes, Eagle Boys Pizza is once again setting a new pasta benchmark by becoming the first major pizza maker to offer Lasagne and Spaghetti Bolognese.

Australia’s second largest pizza maker, Eagle Boys first cooked up pasta dishes in 2007 – with multinational brands following in 2009.

The recent unveiling of Eagle Boys’ biggest menu overhaul in the company’s 23-year history sees premium Lasagne, Spaghetti Bolognese, and Penne Carbonara on the menu.

Eagle Boys CEO Todd Clayton said while Australians were committed pasta lovers, they were also very discerning.

“While other pizza makers have tried to deliver pasta in the past, many felt it wasn’t up to par.  They hoped that by drowning poor-quality ingredients in a heavy sauce, Australian pasta-lovers would be fooled.   They weren’t,” he said.

“We’ve spent the past 12 months looking at different Italian pastas, sauces and recipes to find the best.

“The key is simple – use fresh and quality ingredients which don’t compromise on taste.

“Australian pizza lovers are invariably also pasta lovers so it’s only natural to offer them both.”

A recent report by BIS Shrapnel found that pizza shops were the fourth highest place of purchase for ‘Italian’ food in Australia.*

The new pasts join a total of 31 new items on Eagle Boys’ menu – which also includes a 92.7% fat-free “Lighter Choices” range of gourmet pizzas, five new premium pizzas, five new side dishes, five kids meals, three new desserts, a gluten-friendly pizza base, and new range of drinks.

Eagle Boys Pizza is Australia’s second largest pizza maker and is 100% Australian-owned.  It operates over 300 franchised stores throughout Queensland, New South Wales, Victoria, South Australia, Western Australia, the ACT, and the Northern Territory, employing more than 4,000 staff and making more than 17 million pizzas a year.
