Oporto is teaming up with the Tamworth PCYC to provide vitally needed funds to this important community organisation. A recent donation of $1750 to the PCYC to assist with the funding of the installation of a new air conditioning system in the PCYC hall and with the purchase of uniforms for the various PCYC sporting teams was made by the local franchisee owner, Andrew Castle to PCYC Manager Kylie O’Leary.
“The PCYC is all about getting young people active, working with young people to develop skills, character and leadership through sporting, arts, life-skills and recreation programs. Additionally these programs also help reduce youth crime in the area” said O’Leary.
Jeff Fisher, CEO of Oporto says “we are very proud of the success Oporto Tamworth Drive-Thru store has enjoyed since it opened just under a year ago. Its popularity among locals shows that Oporto is a favourite meal destination for the region and we’re pleased to be able to bring the taste of Bondi to them.”
Franchisee owner, Andrew Castle who lives locally and is committed to the area and being involved in the community is excited about the future.
“Since opening Oporto Tamworth 8 months ago, locals haven’t stopped raving about the taste of the fresh grilled chicken and the addictive sauces – prego, chilli, lemon and herb, chilata and garlic” said Castle.
“We employ over 40 staff of all ages, for part time, full time and casual work and we’re 100% committed to playing our role in supporting the local community. Tamworth PCYC is a foundation stone of the local communities youth efforts and a great part of Australian tradition. As a 100% Australian-owned company we’re proud to support such a worthwhile organisation.”
It is an important objective for Oporto nationwide to be involved with local community activities.
