Brisbane based, multi-award-winning pool and spa care franchise PoolWerx has taken home one winner and three runner up awards from a total of five nominations at this week’s Franchise Council of Australia ‘Excellence in Franchising Awards’.
PoolWerx NSW Regional Manager Andrew Walker took out the Field Manager of the Year Award while Irene & Ian Hughes from PoolWerx Hillarys (WA) were recognised as runners up in the multi-unit franchise category.
PoolWerx CEO and Founder John O’Brien was acknowledged as runner up for the Contribution to Franchising award and PoolWerx were also runners up in the coveted Established Franchise of the Year award category.
PoolWerx was also the only organisation at the awards to receive five nominations.
The FCA Excellence in Franchising Awards recognises and rewards excellence and provides a platform for companies and individuals to showcase the amazing work they do in the franchise sector.
PoolWerx CEO John O’Brien said he was immensely proud of the work of the entire PoolWerx team in 2011.
“It’s fantastic to see PoolWerx recognised across such a wide variety of categories this year,” he said.
“It is rare to see an organisation receive five national FCA award nominations in the one year, so it’s a huge achievement for the brand and a clear testament to the hard work and dedication of not only our amazing Franchise Partners but also our National Support Team.”
Andrew Walker, winner of the National Field Manager of the Year Award, said he was honoured to take home the accolade.
“I started with PoolWerx in 2006 working at different levels in the company and recently left my position in Brisbane to work in NSW,” he said.
“Field Manager is a challenging role, being the middleman between Franchise Partner and franchisor. You need excellent communication skills as well as the business acumen to help your Franchise Partners grow their businesses in terms of sales and profitability.”
“Given this, it’s really a huge honour to be recognised with this award and know that all the hard work has been noticed by the wider franchising community.”
“To stand out against the strong group of managers that were in the running this year is very humbling.”
