So say a number of franchisees in Party Plus. Despite doom and gloom in the media for the last 12 months, WA-based Party Plus stores continue to experience high demand.
 
According to Managing Director Andrew Foote, “There is no doubt that some softening of retail sales has occurred generally, and Party Plus has not been immune. However, because of the Party Plus range of goods and services combined with our business model, even those stores that have flat-lined turnover for the last 12 months have shown increased profits.”
 
While party hire equipment, balloons and general party supplies are what Party Plus supplies, Foote says that the backbone of the business is the growing number of loyal repeat customers – and he attributes this to unwavering standards in outstanding service through genuine customer care. “We don’t really like the word ‘customer’”, says Foote. “Customers tend to be numbers … faceless statistics. Instead, we create genuine relationships with real live people.”
 
The Party Plus business philosophy has three parts. In demand, high profit, quality hire equipment and retail products. Building genuine relationships with customers. Not over-selling today, with a view to building a long-term relationship for the future.
 
“Our approach is not creating a quick sale for as much money as we can today”, says Foote, “but it’s a long-term sustainable growth model. Combine that with a virtually recession-proof range of products and our proven systems and it’s a recipe for success. So simple, yet it works!”
