Banjo’s Franchisee partnership Mark Maumill and Jason Love won the VIC / TAS Regional award for Franchisee of the Year in this year’s MYOB Excellence in Franchising Awards.

The MYOB Excellence in Franchising Awards are run by the Franchise Council of Australia and are the pinnacle awards for the Australian franchising industry. The awards showcase Australian franchise businesses and their operators and recognise outstanding achievement in franchising. There were 17 applicants for the Vic / Tas region. The regional winners go on to be finalists for the National awards held at the National Franchise Convention in Sydney on 18 October 2008.

Applicants are assessed by a panel of industry experts against specific criteria developed by the Franchise Relationship Institute. The criteria measures Franchisee effectiveness and covers an extensive array of business management factors from financial planning, marketing and personal development.

With 35 stores nationally, Banjo’s is the only franchise system that is based in Tasmania, and this award recognises the success of the organization and the achievements of Mark and Jason in the growth and development of their Banjo’s businesses. Mark and Jason operate 2 sites, in Tasmania, and are currently purchasing a franchise in Victoria and two in Queensland.

“Banjo’s has been franchising since 1984 and is a household name in Tasmania. Mark and Jason have worked their way up through the Banjo’s network culminating in them becoming franchisees. They are highly respected and valued partners. We congratulate them on their hard work and successes to date,” said Managing Director, Peter Baily.
